Developing technical standards for electronic recording in Wisconsin

• To complete a draft and work to promulgate rules that achieves harmony with other states.  To continually review and update recommended Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) technical standards for electronic recordings, recognizes the resources and needs of local government and the private sector regarding technical requirements, facilitates land records integrity and security of transaction, and promotes efficiencies and improved service. 

• To identify problems, opportunities and solutions and to reach consensus among the title industry, legal community and banking industry, leading to recommendations for statewide standards that will make property records systems more efficient and effective for the public.

• To investigate possible statutory changes and recommended policies and procedures designed to further this mission.
